BIEK LLP and the Royal Northern College of Music Launch BIEK Global Arts Week 2026 in Seoul

BIEK LLP is delighted to announce the launch of BIEK Global Arts Week 2026, an ambitious international music education programme taking place in Seoul from 27 July to 1 August 2026 in partnership with the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), one of the United Kingdom's leading conservatoires.

The week-long programme represents a significant milestone in the continuing development of educational collaboration between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Korea. Bringing together internationally respected performers, distinguished professors, aspiring young musicians and leading Korean educators, the initiative has been designed to provide Korean students with direct access to British conservatoire expertise without the need to travel overseas.

Hosted at the Rode Arts Center in Seoul, BIEK Global Arts Week combines five major educational events into one integrated programme:

  • RNCM Seoul International Piano Competition

  • RNCM Masterclasses

  • RNCM Faculty Concert

  • Winners' Gala Concert

  • RNCM Auditions

The programme will be led by internationally renowned RNCM professors Professor Simon Callaghan and Professor Graham Scott, who will travel from Manchester to Seoul to deliver masterclasses, adjudicate the competition and perform alongside distinguished Korean faculty.

Unlike many music competitions, the objective of BIEK Global Arts Week extends beyond prizes and rankings. The emphasis is firmly upon education, artistic development and international exchange. Throughout the week participants will receive detailed professional feedback, experience world-class teaching and gain insight into the performance standards expected within one of Britain's foremost music institutions.

Selected participants will also have the opportunity to participate in RNCM admission auditions and receive guidance regarding future study opportunities in the United Kingdom.

The initiative reflects BIEK's wider mission of strengthening educational partnerships between Britain and Korea across schools, universities, conservatoires and professional training institutions. By creating opportunities for meaningful academic and cultural exchange, BIEK seeks to establish sustainable long-term relationships that benefit students, educators and institutions in both countries.

As an organisation headquartered in the United Kingdom with an established Korean branch, BIEK continues to develop programmes that combine British educational excellence with Korean ambition and talent.

Applications remain open for eligible participants.
